Primitive Roots

Remembering the Wisdom of our Ancestors

Get Started

At Primitive Roots, you can create your own profile, share your stories, upload your videos or pictures, keep a blog of your primitive adventures, and stay connected to friends you've met along the way. We love NIng because it makes staying connected yet seperate easy. Everyone joins under one network, Primtive Roots, but they retain their individuality. On the front page, all our blogs come together to create a community blog. Our videos, pictures, and stories become a community resource for the world at large.

It's a great way to keep growing and learning from each other. We encourage stories about what skills you are practicing, what you learned at the latest class/gathering, or interesting ramblings. One goal is to have schools and gatherings come to the site and list their events like the gatherings, Rendevous's, or get togethers in order to reach more people and minimize gathering overlap. Events can be either private or public.

If you are a school, we encourage you to join our network and ask your instructors, and students to join as well. It's a great way to announce gatherings, new classes, meet new people, form new business partnerships, and just hang out and have fun. Individual instructors can have their profiles and links to your school which increases your schools web visibility yet allows them to be who they are too. You can start groups for your school or classes, to provide continuing education or maintain friendships. Ultimately, by sharing your knowlege and staying connected you will reach new people and reconnect with old friends. It will be great for business.

For businesses or small artisans, we plan on having a multi-vendor shop where you can peddle your wares. That should be up and running in a few weeks. Until then you can use your profile and blog to let everyone know you have a business and where they can find you on the web. If you already maintain a website or a blog, that's okay. You can link to it and reach more people. Your outside blog can be RSS fed into your Primitive Roots Blog so you can share two sides of yourself. Your professional side and your social side. Our network is more of a social group than a marketing group, therefore, we ask that you don't sell anything directly with buy now buttons or start a mini shop on your blog. However, you can talk about your business and discuss products or services. We want this to be a fun place so no mass business marketing is allowed. Announcements, Events, and Links are encouraged and welcome!

If you have any questions or want to know why or how this network can benefit you give Candi Huber email at sweetdesigns(@)candihuber.com. Candi will fill you in on the all the details. Likewise, if there is a discussion, group, or something you want to be included on this site let Candi know.

Primitive Roots Sponsor

Our social group was organized by members of the Maine Primitive Skills School. We created this group to continue connecting in a social setting with our students, teachers, and other schools/groups. Everyone with an interest is welcome to join our network.
